1. Day 1 Bhuj

   Arrive, Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal.

   Arrive at Bhuj airport or railway station, where our driver meets you. Explore Bhuj, the heart of Kutch: visit the Swaminarayan temple, the Aina Mahal, an eighteenth-century palace with a hall of mirrors, and the Prag Mahal, an Italian Gothic palace with a clock tower. Walk through the old market for embroidered textiles, bandhani and leather crafts. Check in to your hotel and rest. Bhuj was badly damaged in the 2001 earthquake and has since been rebuilt, with many old palaces carefully restored. Overnight in Bhuj.

2. Day 2 Dhordo

   White Rann sunset, craft villages.

   After breakfast, drive to Dhordo, about 80 km and two hours, the gateway to the White Rann. On the way, visit craft villages such as Bhirandiyara and Hodka to see Kutchi embroidery and mud houses called bhungas. Collect your Rann entry permit and drive to the salt desert in time for sunset, when the white plains turn pink and gold. On full moon nights, the Rann glows silver. Dinner at your resort. The Rann Utsav festival runs from about November to February. Overnight in Dhordo.

3. Day 3 Bhuj

   Dholavira, Road to Heaven, drop in Bhuj.

   After breakfast, check out and drive to Dholavira, one of the largest cities of the Harappan civilisation, now a UNESCO site, about 200 km away. See its stone reservoirs and the ancient signboard. Then drive along the Road to Heaven, a straight road across the white salt flats with water on both sides. Continue back to Bhuj, where our driver drops you at the airport or station. It is a long day. Carry water and a cap, as there is little shade. Your Kutch journey ends here.
