1. 1 Mumbai 2 nights

1. Day 1 Mumbai

   Arrive, Marine Drive at sunset.

   Arrive in Mumbai, where our driver meets you at the airport, railway station or bus stop and takes you to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, head to Marine Drive, the Queen's Necklace, for a walk along the sea as the sun sets and the city lights come on. Stop at Girgaon Chowpatty beach for pav bhaji, bhel puri or kulfi. Mumbai is India's busiest city, so keep valuables close in crowded places. Mumbai never really sleeps, so the seafront stays lively well into the night. Overnight in Mumbai.

2. Day 2 Mumbai

   Elephanta Caves and South Mumbai.

   After breakfast, take the ferry from the Gateway of India to Elephanta Island, about an hour across the harbour, to see the UNESCO-listed rock-cut caves with the giant three-headed Shiva sculpture. The ferry ticket and cave entry are paid locally. Elephanta is closed on Mondays. Return to see the Gateway of India and the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, then drive past Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Flora Fountain and the Bombay High Court. Shop at Colaba Causeway in the evening. Overnight in Mumbai.

3. Day 3 Mumbai

   Haji Ali, Siddhivinayak, departure.

   After breakfast, check out and continue sightseeing. Visit Kamala Nehru Park and the Hanging Gardens on Malabar Hill, with views over the bay. See Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque on a tiny island reached by a causeway at low tide, and the Siddhivinayak temple, one of the most visited Ganesh temples in India. Drive past the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Our driver then drops you at the airport or railway station for your onward journey. Your Mumbai city break ends here.
