Day by day

Day 1 Rovaniemi
Arrive, evening briefing.
Welcome to Lapland. Indian travellers need a Schengen visa, which our team helps you arrange. After landing in Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland on the Arctic Circle, our team meets you for the shared transfer to your hotel. Check in and rest. In the evening, meet your tour escort for a welcome briefing on the days ahead, clothing for the cold and how the aurora forecasts work. Temperatures can drop below minus 20 degrees, so dress in layers. Overnight in Rovaniemi.
-
Day 2 Rovaniemi
Santa Claus Village, huskies, aurora hunt.
Visit Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle, meet Santa in his office, cross the Arctic Circle line and send postcards with a special postmark from Santa's Main Post Office. Then head into the snowy forest for a husky safari, riding on a sled pulled by a team of excited dogs. After dinner, set out on an aurora hunting tour to the Ounasvaara area, away from city lights, with a guide who watches the forecast. Thermal suits are provided for safaris. Overnight in Rovaniemi.
-
Day 3 Rovaniemi
Ranua Wildlife Park.
Travel to Ranua Wildlife Park, about one hour south, home to Arctic animals in large natural enclosures, including the only polar bears in Finland, along with brown bears, lynx, wolves, moose and snowy owls. Walk the snowy trails and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, enjoy a reindeer sleigh ride and visit a reindeer farm to learn how the Sámi people have herded these animals for generations. The polar bears are most active in the cold winter months. Overnight in Rovaniemi.
-
Day 4 Glass igloo
Free day, night in a glass igloo.
A free morning to try optional activities such as snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing or ice karting. In the afternoon, check in to your glass igloo, a heated cabin with a glass roof where you can watch the sky from your bed. If the sky is clear and the aurora is active, you may see the Northern Lights dancing overhead, one of nature's most magical sights. The aurora is never guaranteed. Pack a small bag for the igloo night. Overnight in a glass igloo.
-
Day 5 Rovaniemi
Departure.
Wake up in your glass igloo surrounded by snow-covered forest. After breakfast, check out and transfer to Rovaniemi airport for your flight home. Please allow extra time, as winter weather can affect flights. Pick up Finnish chocolate, lingonberry jam or reindeer souvenirs at the airport shops, and claim VAT refunds on eligible purchases. Keep warm clothes handy for the walk to the airport bus. Your Lapland winter adventure ends here, with memories of huskies, reindeer, Santa and a night under the Arctic sky.
