Day 1 Goa
Arrive, evening on the beach.
Welcome to Goa, India's favourite beach destination. Our driver meets you at the airport or railway station and takes you to your beach resort. Check in and relax. Spend the evening on the beach, watching the sun set over the Arabian Sea, or exploring the local market near your hotel. Try Goan specialities such as fish curry rice, prawn balchao or vegetarian xacuti at a beach shack. Dinner at the resort. Goan fish curry with rice is the classic first meal, with vegetarian thalis easy to find too. Overnight in Goa.
-
Day 2 North Goa
Forts, beaches and markets.
After breakfast, explore North Goa by private car. Visit Fort Aguada and its lighthouse, and the ramparts of Chapora Fort, made famous by a Bollywood film, for views over Vagator beach. Spend time at Calangute, Baga and Anjuna beaches, and visit the Anjuna flea market if it is a Wednesday. In the evening, enjoy the lively restaurants and music of the Baga and Calangute area. Return for dinner. Evenings are perfect for a seafood dinner at one of the beach shacks, with music and the sound of the waves. Overnight in Goa.
-
Day 3 South Goa
Temples, Old Goa and Colva.
Today, explore South Goa. Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral in Old Goa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Mangueshi temple in the hills of Ponda. Drive through the Latin quarter of Fontainhas in Panaji, with its colourful Portuguese-style houses. Then relax on the quieter beaches of the south, such as Colva or Benaulim, with soft white sand and calm water. Dinner at the resort. Dress modestly for the churches and temples, with shoulders and knees covered, and carry a light scarf. Overnight in Goa.
-
Day 4 Dudhsagar
Jeep safari to the falls, spice farm.
A day trip to Dudhsagar Falls, one of India's tallest waterfalls, on the Goa and Karnataka border. Drive to Collem, then take a shared jeep through the forest of Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary to the foot of the falls, where the water plunges about 310 metres like a stream of milk. The jeep safari runs mainly from October to May, and the falls are fullest after the monsoon. Stop at a spice plantation for lunch at extra cost. Overnight in Goa.

Day 5 Goa
Departure.
After breakfast, check out of your resort. Pick up cashews, feni, kokum and bebinca from the local shops as gifts. Our driver transfers you to Dabolim or Mopa airport, or the railway station, for your journey home. Check your airport in advance, as the two airports are far apart. Dabolim is about 30 minutes from South Goa, while Mopa is in the north, so we time the transfer to your flight. Your Goa holiday ends here, with memories of golden beaches, old churches and a thundering waterfall in the forest.
