Day by day

Day 1 Paris
Arrive, Indian dinner.
Welcome to Europe. Indian travellers need a Schengen visa, which our team helps you file well before departure. After landing in Paris, our representative meets you for the transfer to your hotel. Check in and rest after the long flight. In the evening, meet your tour manager and fellow travellers over a welcome Indian dinner, where you get the tour briefing, daily timings and tips for the trip. Keep your passport and valuables safe, as pickpockets are common in tourist areas. Overnight in Paris.
-
Day 2 Paris
Eiffel Tower, Seine cruise, Versailles.
A full day in Paris. Go up the Eiffel Tower for views over the city, then cruise on the River Seine, passing Notre-Dame, the Louvre and the city's bridges. In the afternoon, visit the Palace of Versailles, the grand home of Louis XIV, with its Hall of Mirrors and gardens. Finish with an orientation drive past the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées. Indian dinner in the evening. Keep your bag zipped and close to you, as the Eiffel Tower area is busy with pickpockets. Overnight in Paris.
-
Day 3 Amsterdam
Brussels, then the Netherlands.
After breakfast, drive north into Belgium for a visit to Brussels. See the Grand Place, with its gilded guild houses, and the Manneken Pis statue, and try Belgian waffles or chocolate. Continue into the Netherlands and arrive in the Amsterdam area by evening. Enjoy an Indian dinner and a walk if time allows. Over the Christmas period, cities across Europe are decorated with lights and markets. Belgian chocolates make lovely gifts, so pick some up in Brussels. Christmas markets are a highlight on this route. Overnight in Amsterdam.
-
Day 4 Frankfurt
Canal cruise, drive into Germany.
Take a cruise along Amsterdam's UNESCO-listed canals, lined with narrow gabled houses, houseboats and bicycles. In spring, visit the Keukenhof gardens with millions of tulips, or the Madurodam miniature park at other times. Then drive into Germany, along the Rhine with its vineyards and castles, to the Frankfurt area. Indian dinner. Amsterdam has more bicycles than people, so look both ways before crossing the cycle lanes. The drive into Germany passes castles and vineyards on the hills above the Rhine, a beautiful sight from the coach window. Overnight in Frankfurt.
-
Day 5 Zurich
Heidelberg, Black Forest, Rhine Falls.
Visit Heidelberg, a romantic university town with a red sandstone castle above the Neckar river. Then drive into the Black Forest, famous for cuckoo clocks and Black Forest cake, and watch a cuckoo clock demonstration. Cross into Switzerland and stop at the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe by volume. Continue to your hotel in the Zurich area. Black Forest cake comes from this region, so try a slice with coffee. The falls are spectacular even in winter, when mist rises from the water. Overnight in Zurich.
-
Day 6 Zurich
Free day or Jungfraujoch, Lucerne.
A free day in Switzerland, or join the optional excursion to the Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe at 3,454 metres, by cogwheel train through the Eiger mountain. In the afternoon, enjoy an orientation tour of Lucerne, a lakeside town with the wooden Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument. Shop for Swiss watches, knives and chocolates. Farewell dinner with the group. Carry warm layers, gloves and sunglasses if you go up to the Jungfraujoch. Lucerne's old town is also decorated for Christmas in December. Overnight in Zurich.
-
Day 7 Zurich
Departure.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and say goodbye to your tour manager and fellow travellers. Our representative transfers you to Zurich airport for your flight home. Please reach three hours before departure and claim VAT refunds on eligible purchases before check-in. Pack Swiss chocolates carefully in your cabin bag. Keep your boarding pass, passport and VAT refund forms together to save time at the airport. Your week in Europe ends here, with memories of Paris, Amsterdam, the Black Forest and the Swiss Alps.
